3. Miele RX2
Known for quietly effective home appliances Miele's RX2 robot vacuum is a great choice because of its cleaning power, beautiful design, and a great navigation. However, it does have some operational issues that prevent it from being ranked as the top overall smart robot vacuum.
Like iRobot's latest models like the RX2 features dual-sensor mapping that uses the LIDAR sensor to map an area and three 3D scanning cameras that can detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. After the room has been identified and assigned, you can designate virtual no-go areas and sections that you would like to be the robot. You can also manually change cleaning modes, start an automatic clean or see live feeds of the cameras onboard from the main screen.
The sensors of the RX2 work well in registering furniture and other obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping power are top-of-the-line and cleans up surface debris from carpets with medium piles and dust in bare floors. It's not the fastest robotics on the market. Like many other robots it's not a great climber and has issues with things like thresholds made of steel transition strips.

It then uses the information to create an efficient and consistent cleaning path for every cycle. Other features of the 980 include two multi-surface rubber brushes which grab dirt from carpet and hard floors as well as a spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum's bin.
